  1. Two Picture Easy tables are included with Picture Publisher 5.0. 
  2. When these tables are used, the mid to deep tones are of a 
  3. lighter density, creating a halftone dot that reproduces well 
  4. when sent to film. With many pictures you will find it necessary 
  5. to boost the darkest tones slightly to add contrast. You do this 
  6. by going under Map to Contrast/Brightness, visual and boost the 
  7. dark tones slightly. If you look at the histogram make sure that 
  8. the majority of pixels are still in the mid tones. 
  9. Two settings are included. One is for a web press with a 25% 
  10. dot gain, which needs a lighter image, and the other is for an
  11. offset press with a 20% dot gain.

  13. Sampling the colors with the eye dropper in CYMK mode will tell 
  14. the CYMK color values that will be imaged and the histogram gives
  15. great insight into the overall quality of the picture.
